Abie's DooWop Taxi
About the Radio Shows

Abie's DooWop Taxi (the radio show) was created in April of 2003. Abie was a big DooWop Fan. When WCBS-FM in NYC canceled the long running DooWop Shop, hosted by Don K Reed, Abie needed DooWop to listen to on the radio, so Abie teamed up with Doowop Café Radio and became a DJ. Thanks to Jack, the station technician, he slowly learned the art of producing radio shows. Thanks to René Davids of The Netherlands Abie's education continues with lessons in maintaining webpages.

Thanks to Ronnie I of Clifton Music he incorporated into his shows the UGHA top-500. Later on, thanks to J.C. Marion, an expert on the creation of DooWop through the R&B routes of the genre Abie incorporated much of J.C. Marion's knowledge and expert song picks into his shows. J.C. Marion's vast R&B knowledge can be read on his Web pages called DooWop Nation.

Also included in this story are two people who were vital in helping Abie obtain the music he needed to produce the shows, Patricia Fredrick and Bruce Woolf. Abie was introduced into the Internet world of DooWop from Bruce's Web site The DooWop Corner.

In February 2006, WELV-FM, a non-profit public service radio station in Ellenville, NY, began broadcasting Abie's DooWop Taxi as a regular feature
